The first event took place on Friday at Hotel Arts. Offering his support to the program was local business leader Brent Wilson, who says by offering perspective entrepreneurs high-level business mentorship, meaningful and sustainable business ideas can come to fruition. “There’s an incredible opportunity in this marketplace right now, given the mindset of a lot of people that the sky is falling,” Wilson said. “The economic reality is that there are opportunities beginning to abound.”He adds, he likes what he’s hearing from the province in regards to entrepreneurship initiatives.“The budget announced a couple programs that were very – it looked to me – innovative and creative, but there was no new information supplied in terms of how they would operate, or how funds would be allocated. The proof is in the pudding; we’re still cooking the pudding,” he said. Step one is matching would-be upstarts with one of more than 30 business leaders. read more
