The Salem Hills boys posted 185.5 points with Juab placing third with 80 points. Delta placed sixth with 40 points and North Sanpete finished seventh with 29 points. Delta’s Savannah Nielson swept the 100-meter hurdles (15.73 seconds) and 300-meter hurdles (48.03 seconds) titles, bolstering the Rabbits’ point totals. Also for the boys, Beaver is tied for fifth with Dixie (15 points apiece) and Kanab is tied for 10th with Water Canyon and Parowan (5 points apiece). Valley is 13th with 2 points. In the boys’ long jump, Beaver’s Porter Albrecht placed fifth with a leap of 19-09 feet and Kanab’s Jarom Johnson finished seventh with a leap of 19 feet 8 inches. For the girls, the Skyhawks netted 176.5 points while Juab placed second with 95 points. Delta was third with 84 points, Wasatch Academy finished eighth with 16 points and North Sanpete and Manti tied for 10th with 3 points apiece. The meet resumes Saturday. In the boys’ medley relay, Beaver placed fourth in a time of 3:58.01. The team consists of Porter Albrecht, Kaleb Barney, Turner Williams and Spencer Williams. Hurricane Invitational Wasatch Academy’s Sheilah Cheruiyot won the girls’ 3200-meter title in a time of 12:23.21 and Juab’s Ronnie Walker earned the long jump crown with a leap of 16-feet 10 inches. The boys’ shot put saw Treyson Harris of Beaver finish third (46-07.50 feet) and Wood of Valley finished ninth (40-08 feet). Annie Bateman of Kanab finished 9th in the discus (81-06 feet).
